Mama lion stepped in and straightened out Papa lion. I love it. I'm sure Jabari loves his cub. Mama was just making sure he didn't go too far.

Oh this is so prescious!!! In another video phipilli was being licked and looks like so ( surprisingly) jbari is trying to be affectionate to his cub. Please make these videos longer. Lions r SO BEAUTIFUL, FASCINATING and intelligent.

Jabari, the dad, was playing with his cub, Pilipili. It looked rough to hoomans. If he meant to kill the tiny cub, one swipe would do. It’s why in nature & captivity, lioness moms would den their cubs for months prior to introducing them to the pride. Both cub & mom, Zari, acted instinctually & accordingly to their lion social dynamics.

He's not playing. Male cubs routinely get attacked and killed by their sires or other adult males, due to competition reasons.

I know that once a lion steps into a family by way of killing the father, they'll kill the father's cubs as well, but I haven't heard of lions killing their OWN cubs.

That's precisely what I came here to say. This isn't cute. That cub was in real danger and that's why his mother intervened.

The male will not kill his own Other males attempting to take over a pride will certainly kill the cubs
